Dakar is one of the most expensive cities on the planet. The Senegalese capital is ranked 14th in the African rankings and 72nd in the world ahead of Paris, London and Atlanta. This is the result of the survey of the American consulting firm Mercer taken up by Les Echos.
Dakar fell 10 places compared to last year when it was ranked 60th in the world. The most expensive city of the African top 10 is Ndjamena, the capital of Chad, occupying the 11th place in the world.
Mercer’s ranking takes into account several criteria, including the cost of housing, transportation, food, clothing, household goods and investment in the cities studied.
